Considerations for Training the Female Client

Summary: The purpose of this Course is to stop you training females as if they were men! Women are not the same. Women not only have different postural and orthopedic considerations, but their hormonal make-up and nutritional needs are also different! Therefore, it makes sense to base  exercise selection and program design on an understanding of these differences.

Vol 1 (Lecture Part 1, 55min)

You can expect to:

  • Be challenged and inspired to completely change your attitude to how you train or rehabilitate your clients.
  • Learn what you must consider when training females.
  • Understand why postural dysfunction puts women at risk more so than men.
  • Understand the unique aspects of females postural dysfunction, including head carriage, thoracic angle, shoulder girdle, pelvic tilt, etc.
  • Apply successfully such postural mechanics as Q Angle, valgus and varus, among others, to assess female clients from an entirely different point of view, gaining massive results while increasing your client base!

    Vol 2 (Lecture Part 2, 65min)

    You will learn how to:

  • Conduct accurate assessments from which to train and rehabilitate females successfully.
  • Spot and solve joint stability and muscle problems with a commonsense approach that will enhance your capabilities every time.
  • Use posture togain insight into a womans mental state and injury risk factor.
  • Relate poor posture in females with abdominal wall dysfunction and poor lymphatic and blood circulation.
  • Check and improve her mental, physical and nutritional/chemical balance.

    Vol 3 (Lecture Part 3, 81min)

    You will learn:

  • How posture can influence exercise selection for women.
  • Why modern exercise equipment (even footwear!) is of such poor functional design and so over-used that they can increase a womans risk factor.
  • How to optimize a woman's training routine using open and closed chain exercises.
  • Why you must take into account the female menstrual cycle when training women. This includes abdominal training, stabilization and incontinence.
  • Reasons and solutions for pelvic floor dysfunction. Beware!The detail in this segment could challenge your current approach!
  • Why females have different eccentric loading parameters to males and how this impacts training programs.
  • Why dieting for women often results in weight gain.
  • How to raise a womans fat metabolism through appropriate training strategies, facilitating weight loss.
  • Why women do not get bigger lifting weights.
  • How to design optimal training programs for your female clients, to maximize postural, stabilization, functional and power outcomes

  • Functional strength training with females, with progressions from basic to advanced.
  • Common technique faults, their implications and how to correct them.
  • How functional strength training will improve female aesthetics.
  • Power training with females, including the quick foot ladder, squat push press, back toss and medicine balls.
  • A mini circuit of 5 key exercises for optimal results.
